The spectrum of color taken by a leaf before it returns to the soil is a beautiful and enchanting array. Mark Krucke takes the leaf out of time and applies the entire palette in Turning Seasons, a gorgeous reflection of the beauty found in a simple, natural form.
There’s no missing this sculpture with its multi-hued rainbow beckoning visitors to come and see it. It’s radiantly speckled in shades of yellow, blue, and red as if by the sun leaking colors through the canopy. Nestled in the wooded area of the City Hall Complex, this playful form embraces its environment as it hovers, ever drifting to meet its final home at the forest floor.
Krucke has a deep admiration for the natural world and mysteries that are unknown and hidden therein. He is fascinated with how to explain, explore and manipulate this world using math and art as languages to solidify ideas and communicate them. In his recent work, he explores a mixture of color, organic and geometric shapes.
