This 2-Day workshop is an introduction to using cold wax medium and oil as a new and interesting technique. We will discuss surfaces, layering, pigments, drying times, embedding, texture and more. This technique, unlike traditional encaustics, does not use heat yet is also impervious to moisture which creates work that is quite stable in its archival properties. Cold wax and oil can be used for abstract work or any style including realism. We will briefly discuss Ceracolors; a new paint line developed to use with wax.
All experience levels are welcome. 6-10 participant
