To Kill A Mockingbird is based on the Pulitzer-prize winning classic novel by Harper Lee, who died in February 2016. Set in the rural south in the 1930s, the novel is renowned for its warmth and humor, despite dealing with the serious issues of rape and racial inequality. “The issues raised in this production are as topical today as they were eighty years ago,” said Centennial High School’s Theatre Director, Terrie Howard. “We wanted to showcase an uplifting drama that reminds our students and community that in the United States, we are all created equally.”
Join the community in watching some of our neighborhood high schoolers perform in this important and inspirational drama. Note that the Centennial High School adaptation of To Kill A Mockingbird is true to Miss Lee’s novel in language, content and themes. Some material may not be appropriate for preteen audience members.
